OT: Anyone seen or heard sighting of black bear in middle tn?

Iv got friends that live in the Carthage and Cookeville are and they say they have been hearing reports lately of bears in the area. Also has anyone hunted black bear in east tn before. Iv thought about giving it a shot but i hear the success rate is very low.
