Just wanted to get some feedback by anyone who works in the field. I've been working corporate America for distributors/manufacturers for 6-7 years now. Bottom line, I'm done.
Both my grandfather and father served in the military and learned IT skills there, and made a career in it. I'm starting to see trends and when reading US Money/Forbes magazines, Web Development seems to be trending in all the right places. I'm relatively tech savvy, and starting to really consider this option.
My question - For anyone making a career change into this profession, is a degree worth it? It seems a lot of developers are self taught but in my corporate America experience, it seems impossible to get any decent jobs without a degree. Seems like two different worlds. Any opinions would be helpful, thanks guys.
