OT: cleaners destroyed my suit

Anyone ever had any luck getting full compensation from dry cleaners for damage? They put a dime-sized hole in my lapel and they are trying to offer me considerably less than the retail value of the suit (< 50 %) by citing sale/clearance prices of the same brand. Any tips on how to get the most compensation?
