I switched to Avira for my virus protection on my personal laptop. I was at a coffee shop this morning that had an open wifi service. Avira popped up suggesting their free VPN where you get 500MB / month. I downloaded the software and it was very easy to use. I use a work VPN on my work laptop but never used one for my personal devices. I'm thinking "what could it hurt" to have an extra layer of protection but wondered if any of the IT experts on the board have an opinion. Thanks.
