I've never posted anything like this before so I apologize if this offends anyone. We moved to Johnson City last summer and one of my son's classmates is disabled. We didn't really ask any questions about her condition, but simply knew her as a funny nice little girl named EllaRey. Her mom just put together a fundraiser and EllaRey's story absolutely floored me. We are heartbroken by what this little girl had to endure at such a young age, but proud that she is in such good spirits despite her situation. If you have a couple of bucks to throw her way, I'm sure her family would appreciate it. Some UT picks for your trouble below.

"At just three months old EllaRey was severely abused while in the care of her birth family. At the ER she was in respiratory failure, having six minutes seizures and wasn’t expected to make it through the night. The Forensic Pediatrician later testified the abuse occurred overtime. EllaRey had a number of brain hemorrhages and bone fractures all in different stages of healing.
At four months old and still recovering from trauma and surgery EllaRey came to live with her forever family. Her rehabilitation is a long and continuous journey that her new family is taking with her. Tracy, EllaRey’s adoptive mom, meets the demanding challenges of EllaRey’s recovery. Together they attend physical therapy, occupation therapy and speech therapy daily."
