OT: Hardwood Flooring

Hey guys,

We are replacing the flooring in our home and researching different options. We are thinking about going with Natural Hickory as we have four kids and a dog and, from what I've read, it sounds like it does well for high traffic situations. Do any of you have experience with Natural Hickory?

Also, our contractor told us to check out Knox Rail Salvage for the material as he thought they had the best prices in the region (we are in Johnson City). Have any of you purchased from them? If so, any quality issues?

Any help would be appreciated.
