This fall I am going to begin a complete rework of my lawn. It is a mess right now with multiple random grass types, weeds, and is absolutely full of wild violet. Might try to rehab the front yard, but the back is a complete nuke it and start over situation.
I'm leaning towards a turf type tall fescue because we have tons of trees in the neighborhood and need something friendly with shade.
Where should I look to get some good seed for a decent price? Any specific variation I should look at? Also, I'm thinking of installing an irrigation system. How difficult would this be to DIY? I'm pretty handy so I'm confident I could do it just not sure if it's worth it.
