A tire of a 3-wheeler climbed my left leg like Tuttle and I needed 18 screws & 2 rods.
After a 1/1/2 months I had physical therapy 5 days a week..

PT starts to support range of motion & strength loss from being immobile. I was in my 40's and couldn't perform my sales rep. traveling position.

Overall I had an increase in left ankle circumference of 1+ inches and a year's recovery which included a 2nd surgery to remove the rods/screws.

Strength returned fully if not quite full motion range....my guess is if the plates/screws are gone
Shy can contribute by the 4th-6th week....just a guess.
