OT: Nashville day trip?

Thinking of spending the day in Nashville Saturday. Haven't been but thought of seeing the opryland hotel and go downtown. Isn't broadstreet or Broadway where the live entertainment is? Any suggestions for a fun afternoon and dinner would be appreciated.
