I am currently with a company where I am the Sales Operations Analyst. My boss is over our Global Sales team and has asked me to accept a sales position with the company where I would stay at my same base (42K) and earn commissions (about 5% of billed revenue). Our average sales exec makes over 75k base along with commissions. My only sales experience has been supporting the sales team the last two years and a brief stint as a personal banker (not really sales).
Should I take the offer or ask for more base and if so how much more base?
