As I stated in a similar thread about a month ago, got a month long trip coming up in August. Going to France for a little over a week (NOT to cheer on the France women's soccer team @tnvls) and then going to England for second half of trip.
Taking a train out of Paris to Nottingham on August 17th, and staying there for a night. From there, trip is pretty much unplanned. Will probably spend a week in London, but the lady friend knows that area well, as she's lived there while in school (would still appreciate recs there too.) But we have debated going to Liverpool/Manchester/Glasgow/Swansea/Countryside in general as well. Because of the centrality of Nottingham, planning on going to the north after our night stay there.
So- any recs on castles/cities/natural areas would be greatly appreciated. Will also bump France thread in case anyone has input there.
