I'll go with Jon Voight in Deliverance. The most impressive aspect of this performance is that not only does he nail the southern accent, he takes it a step further and completely owns the Georgia accent of the time (where any word including the consecutive letters "er" are pronounced with a "u" sound (i.e. Robut instead of Robert).
