After a lot of reflection I think we need to gain some perspective. We were not as good as 8 straight wins made us feel and we are not as bad as the last two games. Lots of teams this weekend have had disasters just like ours - Aaron Rogers throws essentially two pick sixes when they were up and can't hit a barn after that. GA totally came undone in second half like we did. OM's gives up a bunch of picks, etc.
But where does that leave us? I think we still have a very good head coach who can recruit and develop players. Will he get us to a national championship? I doubt it. But at this point, that can't be how we measure success. Can he get us to where we are competitive in almost alll of our games? Yes. It will take more good recruits and perhaps some more assistant coach changes. I am not a big fan of Chaney and have never seen a ton of creativity. But, let's face it, he has a distinguished record and can lead us to a better future than we have now. Bailing out on Pruitt and the team would be a huge disservice and frankly set us back even further. We need to stay the course this season and hope JP can rally the troops and get us moving forward again;. As a lot of teams, including us learned again this weekend, you can't win if you turn the ball over and you can't win if you don't have solid play from your qb. My sense is the coaches are starting JG because he gives us the best chance to win. Until 6 quarters ago, I think we mostly all agreed with that. My guess is we are going to all think that again a month from now.
