Here are my thoughts as to which team has the better players at each position on the field:
QB: Florida EDGE -> Tennessee. Thoughts: Before LDR went down, I had this flipped. Still tempted to call this a push because I think Dobbs is bad, but I'll give him a slight edge due to experience and his running abilities.
RB: Florida EDGE > Tennessee. Thoughts: Very slight edge here, but Hurd is still one of the best backs in the SEC stuck running behind an awful line. Our guys are going to be among the best in the league, but still have some growing to do.
WR: Florida <<-- EDGE Tennessee. Thoughts: This is going off of the assumption that Callaway is playing. Even without Callaway, I think we have the edge, as I think Powell is better than any WR they have. Callaway is what makes it not even close.
TE: Florida <- EDGE Tennessee. Thoughts: Think Goolsby gets to eat in this game, especially if Mac can get him matched up on that LB who stepped in for Kirkland. Not sure that UTs TEs are quite as athletic.
OL: Florida < EDGE Tennessee. Thoughts: Both have been bad, UTs has been worse.
DL:Florida < EDGE Tennessee. Thoughts: Both have been very good, Florida's has been just a hair better. Both have some great 1st line guys and can keep coming at you with depth.
LB: Florida <<-- EDGE Tennessee. Thoughts: Firmly believe that UF has the best LB duo in the country. For UT, JRM is banged up, and Kirkland is out. From what I've read, his backup is a liability.
CB: Florida <<<--- EDGE Tennessee. Thoughts: Tabor is the CB in the country. Per stats from TG, Q has been playing even better to start the season. Sutton is out, and they don't really have anyone else who should scare you. Major edge UF.
S: Florida PUSH Tennessee. Maye is one of the best in the country, so is Abernathy. Both teams have some quality pieces outside of their stars, but nothing you truly fear.
K: Florida <- EDGE Tennessee. Thoughts: Think Medley is ok at best. Think Eddy is probably one of the best in the country, but this is his first time in a hostile environment and in true pressure situations, so we will see.
P: Florida < EDGE Tennessee. Thoughts: UT's punter is pretty good. Townsend is a little better.
KR: Florida EDGE -->> Tennessee. Thoughts: Berry is one of the best KRs in the country. Our KR game has been pretty bland.
PR: Florida <- EDGE Tennessee. Thoughts: Callaway is very good in punt return. Would have been a push with Sutton in, because he's very good as well, I'd imagine Kamara will fill in for him just fine, but do not think he is as good as 81.
Coaching: <<<--- EDGE Tennessee. Thoughts: Coach Mac is a good coach. Butch Jones is, well, I'm sure he's good at something, but it isn't coaching football.
Prediction: Brick by brick, the walls in Knoxville will come tumbling down. Not expecting a blowout, just need a our defense to stay salty, and offense special teams to come up with a few explosive plays. We have more talent, more swagger, and better coaches. We win something to the tune of 23-13.
