I guess we are about half way through the regular season, and some things are starting to unfold and look pretty clear for the Final Four teams. I think the SEC, ACC, Pac 12, and Big 10 will more than likely be the 4 reps of the Bowl Playoff Series. In the SEC Bama is the clear favorite to make it. ACC has Clemson as the clear favorite. Pac 12 has Washington. Big Ten has the Michigan/Ohio St winner. Ok, now we have the chalk out of the way, I'm going to throw some 'what ifs' out there

1. My first question is this.... Who is Clemson going to play in the ACC championship? I would have predicted Miami until this weekend happened. Now I'm going to go with the Virginia Tech Hokies. Yes, the same Hokies we tore apart in Bristol. If we are being honest with each other, I'm not sure the Hokies don't run the table up to the ACC Championship game. They play Miami at home on a Thursday. They play Pitt on the road, and ND on the road. So what if they go 11-1 and are ranked 5th heading into the ACC championship game and their only loss being to the Tennessee Vols? Heaven forbid they beat Clemson. Do they get in then?

2. Ok.... We know Michigan or Ohio State is going to have at least one loss come the end of the regular season, but here is what we aren't thinking about.... What if the winner of that game were to lose in the Big 10 Championship game? Does the loser (didn't even play in the conference championship game) get in?

3. Our beloved Tennessee Vols come into big time play here. I'll never concede a loss, but let's assume Vegas is right and we lose this week. Giving us 2 losses. But what if the unthinkable happens and we head to ATL (assuming the SEC office wakes the hell up and makes Florida play) and dominate Bama and win the SEC Championship? What do you do with 10-2 Tennessee? They just played the hardest schedule in the country, and won the toughest conference in America. Do they still send 1 loss Alabama over us? Probably.

Just some food for thought here. Pretty crazy to think about how much Virginia Tech can help us out, and just how hard our schedule really is. Please feel free to rip this apart and make me feel like an idiot, or feel free to chime in with some insightful thoughts.

Go Vols, Beat Bama
