You may remember my plea for prayers a few years back when my wife was diagnosed with cancer while pregnant with my daughter Katherine who is now 2, and extremely healthy by the way. In case you're new to the board, here's our story on that:

Well, we thought we had her cancer battled for good, but today at Piedmont Cancer Center in Atlanta, we got news that will test our faith and courage, and I'm humbly asking for your prayers and kind thoughts during this transition. My wife's cancer is back with a vengeance. It's an aggressive cell-type, stage 4 and it's spread into her lungs, lymph nodes, and spine. Her life will now be measured by months and maybe years, but certainly not another decade. She'll never see my daughter grow up and go to high school, college, or get married. Hurts to even type that.

She had JUST started to resume being 'her' again and that's what breaks my heart the most. It took a long time to get her spirit back but over the last few months, she started seeing the 'glass half full' again. She even insisted that we start back at church which was a prayer that was finally answered.

I have (2) great tickets to the Ga Tech game, one for me, one for her, but her spine has gotten so bad so quickly, I'm not sure if we're going to go. I may call Mercedes-dome and see if we can get wheelchair access, something. If we can't go, I'm going to let everyone know and I'll give away my tickets for local pickup.

Please pray for us. If you have a wife, she probably drives you nuts at times - just a wild guess. Despite that, remind her that you love her. "A long life together" isn't promised, believe me on that. And if you're unmarried, don't work so hard that you neglect to tell your family that you love them whether it's a sibling, your parents, whomever. This current cancer came on FAST. So do car accidents, heart attacks, and all the other things that destroy life and leave important words unspoken. Not trying to be preachy and give out all kinds of unsolicited advice because I generally hate that stuff. But I am hoping that I can somehow use this destructive tragedy and turn it into something that's beneficial to others.

Psalm: 23:4,
GBO
