I am as diehard Vol as they come, but my loyalty is to Tennessee football not to Butch Jones. One thing that frustrates me the most is that he constantly says that he is the "caretaker" of Tennessee football. I understand people defending Butch and not wanting a repeat of Dooley, but you can't not seize the future because you fear a repeat of the past. While Butch has had very good recruiting classes, we should keep a few things in mind while grading CBJ:

--CBJ recruits at a level at or slightly below where the UT football teams of the Fulmer era and the one Kiffin year were; i.e., he is recruiting where he should be not in excess of it
-->people give him credit for doing what a UT coach should on the recruiting trail; not saying I'm not grateful for the upgrade job he did in his first two years but it's year four, the luster is gone;
--He has a MAC coach mentality, i.e. he thinks three consecutive bowl appearances means s*** to us as opposed to competing for SEC Championships and seems to be ok losing 2-3 games a year;
--He has not demonstrated once that he has the in-game coaching ability to compete at the highest levels of CFB;
--Team 120 despite having more talent has regressed in almost every major statistical category across the board;
--He allows his team to come out flat for a must-win road game against a 15 point underdog, then makes seemingly 0 in-game adjustments en route to calling a 58 yard Medley field goal for a tie (smh);
--After 4 years of CBJ, he will only have maybe Derek Barnett and Cam Sutton that he can say his system trained, developed, and got drafted;
--In 3 out of 4 CBJ years, he's lost to a team we "should" have beat when we needed to win (VU 2013, Ark 2015, SC 2016); In year 4, his offense has no identity when it returned approx 9 starters from last year's team;
--Other than Alvin Kamara and still waiting on J. Kongbo, he's been atrocious with JuCO pickups;
--Other than Florida 2nd Half, he's been outcoached in every game this year;
--His offense seems to run better when it steps outside of his scheme's playcalling;
--His highest rated offensive prospect in both the 2014 and 2015 classes have transferred;
--He still doesn't understand that you can't BS Tennessee fans; it's not that we don't understand your BS, it's that we are choosing to believe the best in you; don't take us for stupid people, and Butch does
--Finally, the 2017 class is a significant step back in recruiting talent, and if this trend continues, CBJ is just a repackaged Dooley
