Good grief. I am hearing all this chatter about his recruiting and not being able to close the deal....
Look, we pretty well know what we have. Pruitt is an old time type coach who is all football. No more gimmicks like we saw for 5 years. He is obviously not comfortable in most of the roles he must play as a head coach. This is new territory for him.
None of us can correctly judge at this point if he will work out on any front. He is definitely going to be swinging for the fences and given that we are dead last in the SEC and have experienced the Dooley's and Butch and Curry, what does anyone expect.? It is pretty amazing that he can even get top rated recruits to even look our way. And it is predictable we are going to swing and miss, more times than we land one. And it is a long ways to signing day, even the early one.
We are talking about impressionable high school kids with coaches and everyone else in their ears telling them they should do this or that.
I don't know that he can recruit at a school rising from the ashes or not, and certainly against opponents who are playing for national championships. And neither do you.
