Think these two dudes are super intriguing prospects. Obviously we know a lot about Marley, who AP did an interview with this week and clearly has the Vols high on his list. Sanders is lesser known here, but Niedermeyer RT’d him two days in a row last week, which tends to show serious interest, especially during this dead period.
AP has used the term "coveted" for both in terms of how the Vols view them, and per AP they're both projected on the defensive side of the ball by the Vols.
Marley is more highly rated by both major sites but Sanders seems to have an equally strong offer list, with OU and Auburn headlining. What they have in common is that they're both in the 6'2-6’3, 205-210 range, both are listed as ATHs due to the fact that they play all over the field for their respective high schools, and both are known for their incredible athleticism and physicality.
What I find especially interesting is that ultimately, due to their respective sizes and bigtime athleticism, they would each likely be headed for ILB in Tennessee’s 3-4 scheme should the Vols sign either or both. Tennessee seems to be in great shape for instate stud Junior Colson, who is set to decide in about a month or so. But outside of that, although Tennessee is heavily involved with studs like 5-stars Terrence Lewis and Smael Mondon as well guys with bigtime offer lists like Greg Penn and Ian Jackson, UT wouldn’t be considered at the top for any of them. One wonders if Marley and Sanders weren’t listed as ATHs but instead were just LBs if they’re respective rankings wouldn’t be meaningfully higher, because even though both play a lot of WR they really jump off the screen when they play defense with their explosiveness. They just seem like the kind of guys defenses from Auburn (see below), UF, and LSU always have flying around the field on their defenses. As such, they both seem like very interesting potential LB signees for the Vols, and I’ll be eager to see if we can close the deal with Marley and/or get some traction with Sanders.
Side note: Sanders’ high school just sent Ladarius Tennison to Auburn, and another alum is Jashaun Corbin who just transferred to FSU from Texas A&M, so the Vols probably are working from further behind for him relative to Marley.

PS: Don't hate me for my Marley to LB talk @Griddie
