I have been a Vol Fan for a long time, watched and listened to games in tents in Germany and Korea on armed forces network. I loved John Ward, could he call a game, BUT.... in those days there were not a lot of basketball or football games on TV. I went to a lot games in both sports while I lived in East TN. I listened to the Vol Network with Ward at all of those games. The calls were great and the action calls were right BUT he would have the wrong player shooting, tackling, catching the ball. In other words mistakes that announcers make today were made in the past by GREAT Announcers. I have had to listen to announcers all over the South in my travels, I like Bob as well and more then most.
