AJ is a little boy who has survived pediatric cancer. Gameday was supposed to run a story (already completed) Saturday featuring his relationship with Josh Dobbs, but ESPN has decided to pull the story to make room for a segment on Florida State.
From the article:
"Since the Cockney's are embarking on a series of appearances and fundraising events to raise awareness and money for the Children’s Miracle Network and the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, AJ’s story is important and needs to get out there. But it certainly seems like a story about a Tennessee football player and the first-grader who inspires him isn’t important enough to air if the Vols had a poor game against Appalachian State and especially if the featured player didn’t play up to expectations."
While I don't know the details, I think it sucks dropping the story, especially given the unique circumstances.
