Here is my opinion why the state is starting to see progress in HS football players in our state.
We have never really had a complete lack of players there has always been some that have went other places and done well over the years, Avery Williamson, Cobb, Hightower, Willis and others. Not to mention the ones that have played well for Tennessee but it has never been this deep in the state as it has been last 5 -8 years.
But in the last several years with 7 on7 emerging kids are involved year round and our state has some really good coaches (and more of them than before).
The growth and move in of Nashville Franklin Murfreesboro area the last 10-15 years there are players who moved here for various reasons at a younger age.
Strength and Conditioning / speed skill training and facilities are becoming more prevalent in our state some of these kids have more access to professional training than in years past.
College football recruiting has become such a big deal that when a kid is 8th grade Freshman if they think they have potential the motivation to have a signing day and to play major college football is higher than ever before.
I think there maybe years where there aren't as many as others but we should keep turning out better players and highly rated prospects than ever before.
Georgia Florida are always going to be the best states to recruit too with Alabama and Louisiana behind them but the State of Tennessee for some of the reasons I have listed above have closed the gap behind Alabama and Louisiana
