Conference Average Recruiting Rank
SEC 18.01
BIG 42.26
ACC 39.60

SEC makes up 12/20 top Rosters
SEC has all 14 members within Top 27
SEC has 9 members in the top 15
USCjr better than Michigan/Penn State

Ohio State toughest challenge is Michigan with a 22.75 avg. South Carolina if it was on Ohio States schedule would be the most talented team they would face in the BIG.

Clemson toughest opponent is FSU with avg 4.75. After that Miami is the next challange at 19.5 then an even more significant jump with Virginia Tech at 28.75.

If Clemson was in the SEC East they would face 7 rosters with more talent then they do in the ACC.

*****Note*****

In my opinion: The Data only points to the talent of a roster and the physicality a team is facing week in and week out. It is not a factor on how good a team is. You can make an argument the Big 10 or ACC may be better because their rosters are more mature with upper classmen and redshirt players as opposed to the SEC or Better QB play etc. Perhaps the Big 10 has better coaches than the SEC.

More than anything I think this date points to how much easier it is for Ohio State and Clemson to reach the playoffs. (Not to diminish how good Clemson is because they would kick our ass) However, the ease of the schedule over the years allows both of these teams to build depth easier, less physical competition, less mental grind, etc.

Contrary to my argument Clemson has beaten Auburn, Georgia, LSU & South Carolina over the past 4 years. Yet they struggled this year with NC State and Pittsburg. Rosters that average 39 and 45.25. Could they handle the grind each year with a Tennessee schedule? Would they have ever built up a roster like they have while getting crushed by Alabama each year?

Huge gap within conferences as of now
