There are some good stories about old coaches and how they use to recruit..
One of my favorites is Barry Switzer and his assistant coach headed to Texas for an in home visit with top prospect. The assistant is driving and before they get to the house Barry tells him to pull around back on a back street before they pull into driveway. The assistant is like what the hell but he does it, when in the back Switzer gets out and starts looking thru the trash and sees empty cans and empty bottles of lone star beer. Barry gets back in car and says ok take me around front let's go in, when they get inside the Father of the recruit asked Switzer and his assistant if they wanted anything to drink, water or would they like a beer? Switzer replies only if it's lone star because that's the only kind of beer I will drink.. the dad says "that's my type of man" Switzer and OU got the kid! Anyone know of some others or legends share them! Oh and I am sure OU paid to get the kid but thought that was funny story
