I'd offer him $2-2.5 million a year. Yesterday I was completely against it, in my opinion there is only one other coach in the nation that can compete with Barnes as far as doing the least with the most and that's Josh Pastner.
BUT, Barnes is the perfect example of a coach being a very good recruiter but a mediocre X&O coach. Barnes has been to more NCAA Tourneys (22) than the Tennessee basketball program in its entire history (19). Bring him in for 6-8 years let him recruit and get some talent in and some stability here, then the job may look more attractive down the line with a better roster and a little more stability. JMO.
