@Jesse_Simonton went thru our scholarship numbers a few months ago and TOS released an article today on the same.
Looks like we are projected to be at 93 guys who might expect to have a scholarship when players report in the next 6 weeks or so (hopefully) counting Jeremy Banks.
Will be very interesting to follow to see what happens there. Just a couple short years ago, I could glance at our roster and quickly come up with a dozen or two “gitshirt” candidates (even when we weren’t at a full 85). There are a handful of former Walkons who were awarded scholarships over the last year that probably won’t be renewed but still a few other guys won’t be back or some guys new guys aren’t going to qualify to get us to the 85.
We are still a year or two away from having a top level SEC roster, imo, but looking at this roster we finally should have a full roster of 85 SEC caliber football players. Still need more top level difference makers to take that next step but the floor for the program has been raised by this staff.
