Just wanted to pass along this podcast interview Bill Simmons did with Sally Jenkins of the Washington Post. Few in sports media knew Pat Summit as well as Sally, who spent several years around the Lady Vols program and wrote a famous book on Pat (Reach for the Summit) in the late 1990s.
Jenkins spent a good 10 minutes talking about Pat, her coaching style, life philosophy and more. It's a really interesting conversation. Couple great anecdotes. If you have some time, give it a listen. Jenkins has some insightful comments about Geno, too.
Starts around the ~40 minute mark or you can listen to entire conversation about broadcasting, Rodger Goodell, painkillers epidemic in sports, etc.
