for those who seem to know.....
we run the option from the gun...the mesh point is 3-4 yards deep instead of at or near the line of scrimmage...the teams that have given Dobbs fits give a false read w/ the DE...he slides down the line, doesn't attack making it "look" like the read is to give to the RB inside...however, the DE just crashes after the give and tackles from behind for a 1-4 yard gain.....
the counter to me is either push the mesh point into the line and "make" the DE commit or run the jet sweep/stretch plays to get to the edge....those are the plays that Kelly broke Sat night.
I ran the classic veer in college and the inside/outside veer w/ the mesh point in the LOS would kill w/ this personelle....
finally, why not many play action w/ rollout to get Dobbs on the move. this was the play that was stopped late but we only look for the back who was in motion...not the TE crossing or jennings in the post....
any insight on how this offense is "supposed" to work...I am passed being pissed...I love football and looking for actual knowledge...not comments I can find in another thread.
