Are there rules if a player (or really a player's family) opts to pay tuition/room-board, etc. because they can afford it to free up a scholarship for someone that needs it?
For instance, could Archie Manning have said -- "use the scholarship on another player because we can afford it"? Or are there rules prohibiting that?
