I hate this system. I've hated it since it first appeared. But we have seen what it can do when the right people are playing and it is clicking. The bowl game, last year, showcased what Hurd can do in the right system. And it's nothing that we haven't all said since he got here. I am grateful Hurd chose us when he did. It was a needed boost to recruiting and legitimized us again in the mid-state. But it was never the right place for him. Not with this system. AK and JK seem to do just fine given the same circumstances. Have a feeling that CFA will do well too.
This is like the breakup where both people know its not working but neither wanted to end it. Both parties are better off in the end. AK can be showcased the rest of the year and I predict huge games. JK will get more reps and I predict will continue his strong play that will transition to his starting role next year. How will this affect recruiting? Who knows. All I know is if they win out, get some guys healthy, there is a good chance they still have a chance to play for the conference championship. That could go a long way in making people forget this...
