Great football conference but the worst place to work. Coaches are starting to catch on. Over 60 coaches fired in SEC in last 10 years.
National Championship coaches get fired. You have to get through Alabama and Georgia to even have a shot at the playoff. People say better facilities and recruiting but the path to the playoff is harder than any conference. With the playoff expansion, coaching at another conference becomes even more appealing. Make the same money and keep your job longer.
Many great and up and coming coaches came to SEC only to get fired and never be heard of again. Not surprising LSU is having trouble in what is considered a top 5 job. Coaches look at a guy like Jimbo who beats Alabama and still loses 4 games and no where close to making the playoff. If you can make the same money at another conference it’s not debatable. I would take many other jobs in other conferences before any job in the SEC
