Is it time to kill the Tennessee vs Alabama rivalry?

I am 36 years old. So I know how important the rivalry is. And because of my nature, i really respect and tend to buy into tradition. However, I have been thinking on this.

1. Raising our hand to play Alabama every year is not helping us. Let's face it, they are the best program in the nation. At this point, playing them close is a win. We are basically guaranteeing a loss every year by scheduling this game. Now i know, sometimes we can win. but they will win 9 out of 10.

2. Bama does not consider us rivals. Sure they hate us. But I know plenty of Bama fans that emphatically say that Auburn is their biggest rival. There are a couple of younger Bama fans at the gym who even claim that A&M is their rival more than Auburn. Dumb kids.

3. Tennessee LSU games are awesome. I don't know why, but they are entertaining, opening up that spot would give us more opportunities to play LSU, which for reason I just love.

4. I am older, and hate Alabama, but my hate for Florida and Georgia is much bigger. Why? Because their fans are somehow worse than Bama fans, and they are in the east. It makes more sense.

THE ANSWER

Make Tennessee Alabama an every 4 year occasion. Roster refreshes, possible coaching changes, etc. Make it a special occasion at a neutral site.
