was talking to a friend at work (thanks tim) while i was still feeling the deep despair of losing to vandy, (thats still a bad taste when i say it) and i was being unfairly hard on shoop when he pointed out you cant stop the run with 270lb dt's. especially in the sec. especially when the lb'ers dont act like they know what they are doing. so you get roasted in 2 games on the ground and for the 3rd game you creep up your safeties to help with the run, which was working by the way, but then they simply go over the top and their qb is throwing against air because the safeties had to creep up.
so its only fair to determine that this year shoop has not been the problem. lb'er coach has to be let go and we need to get a lb'er coach that can teach these kids where to be on the field and what to do when they get there. we have to get our dt starters healthy and bring in more. furthermore the secondary coach has to teach these kids to look for the ball more, at least get their head around.
