This is actually a complex defense. it's actually slowing some of our linebackers and safeties down alot. They're pausing about a half second or so and over thinking and definitely out of position a lot. You can actually see it really affecting Kirkland.
I do love this system and in the long run it'll will be incredible.
All of us were very excited about Shoop and the type defense he runs. At the same time, when you take chances with all the blitzing you're going to give up some big plays. On a few of the big runs Kentucky had were against corner blitzes. The biggest thing, Kelly Jr was completely out of position and it looked liked he was dragging a refrigerator. Very slow! Insert #18 and you've got someone with the speed to prevent that crap.
Bottom line, this will be a great defense.
