It seems to me that substantially beefing up funding for unemployment compensation and increasing the caps nationally should be the extent of the stimulus. Otherwise, where do you stop? Giving money to airlines so they will keep paying employees to do nothing because there isn’t any business doesn’t make a lot of sense. I am becoming a believer in the “free market” concept for government involvement with business.
As for the checks to individuals, what is that all about? If you have a job or on Social Security, why should the government send you a check? That money should be reserved for those that lose their jobs.
As to paying for it, rather than passing it on to our children and grandchildren in the form of even more deficits, why not roll back those tax cuts passed in 2017?
