Dari Nowkah spoke at the Northwest Arkansas TD Club yesterday and told this story.
Stoerner Story
Another one of Nowkhah's coworkers at the SEC Network is former Arkansas quarterback Clint Stoerner.
Stoerner had a great career for the Razorbacks, but he is widely known for his fumble against Tennessee in 1998, which cost Arkansas the game and likely a shot at the national championship.
Nowkhah shared a funny story about Stoerner and that play Wednesday afternoon. He set the scene as a few years ago at a bar in Nashville. Stoerner was having a couple of beers and started talking to a girl. This is the conversation that ensued, as told by Nowkhah.
Her: "I remember you. I know who you are."
Stoerner: "Okay, that's great."
Her: "Yeah, my dad used to coach in the SEC."
Stoerner: "Oh, who's your dad?"
Her: "My dad's Phil Fulmer."
*Conversation continues until a few minutes later when her phone rings*
Her: "Excuse me, I gotta take this for a second."
*She returns about five minutes later*
Her: "Sorry about that."
Stoerner: "I hope everything's all right."
Her: "It's good. It was just my dad.'
Stoerner: "Oh yeah? How's your dad?'
Her: "He's good. He said to make sure you don't pay for anything tonight."
