Barnes has had zero assistant coaches arrested by the FBI and has had zero postseason bans. Pearl has had one each of those.
Just some facts.
Pearl has coached D1 bball for 16 years when there was an NCAA Tournament, he's made it 10 years. Barnes has made it 25 of 33 years.
So now, recent past, past past, I just don't see how anyone can think "Pearl is so much better than Barnes it's not even close."
It's simply not based in reality. Super odd, dumb drunk redneck obsession some of our fans have.
I loved Pearl, he messed up, it was his fault. He's one of the greatest coaches in school history and he's having similar success at Auburn. Good for him.
Barnes is also one of the greatest coaches in UT history (both UTs) except he is our coach now, and we are ranked all the time and this year we are good man, are we #1 right now? No, but was Auburn the year we were? No, they were basically where we were all year, then they beat us at home end of the year and beat us in the tourney and went to the Final Four.
So, lets just maybe cheer for UT and Barnes?
