Honestly, the Vols football team needed a big symbolic victory tomorrow by way of getting ESPN's #1 player in the country. For the past few months, it was a done deal (100% of all CBs for UT, sister, loves Butch, etc.). Of course he's going to love watching Ohio St beat Mich at the shoe. But the various sites including this one mentioning concern and momentum with Ohio State in the past week (really all of a sudden) felt like a bit of a setup (not saying they were setting it up for a Vols symbolic victory, perhaps Smith/TN were setting up the media). But I think it's safe to say Trey is and was always going to be a Vol, and a little drama and getting the #1 player in the country over a playoff-bound Buckeye team never hurt momentum/PR. With an Ohio State writer CB'ing Smith to the Vols tonight, can't wait for tomorrow's announcement. Getting Smith and Reid into this class is a good way to finish on a strong note.
