1. Is the present "flattening of the curve" strategy an admission that most of us will eventually get Covid 19 illness? Then the steps taken, that are killing our economy, are only a timing thing to prevent the health care system from being overrun?

2. Is this a strategy to hope for a vaccine or medication(which may never happen)?

It appears the great pandemics in the past ended when enough people had the illness and the population developed herd immunity(the same strategy used for everyone getting a flu shot).

If it is the first, how do we start to come out of the protections now being instated and restart the economy?

For instance, what group do we turn loose first to risk getting the illness and start the march towards herd immunity?
