So obviously we got the Wanya Morris commitment story in Charlotte a couple weeks ago. Wanya told us he was ready, had been silently committed to Tennessee for more than a month. We did both my interview and then the commitment piece. He was then scheduled to be at Tennessee the next weekend. Case closed, right?

Na.

As AP noted in another thread though, the situation got a bit hairy after his quiet midweek visit to Auburn. That was the first time his mom had been to The Plains, and as we first reported in real time, the tide quickly shifted following that visit.

However, Tennessee was able to recapture the momentum during Morris' OV weekend, with his mom fully behind the decision to come play for Pruitt and the Vols. He canceled his planned OV to Auburn that Sunday night, but we didn't get word until Monday. From there, he shut it down and was all Tennessee.

Now, Morris has said "when it's done, it's done," but Auburn is definitely going to keep recruiting him. Barring a stunner, Owen Pappoe is set to commit to the Tigers here shortly and Morris' best friend is teammate and AU commit Jakai Clark.

Jeremy Pruitt and Tennessee won a HUGE battle today, and they'll continue to recruit Morris hard for the next eight months.
