Getting a new OC is a hot topic on here with Debord/Helfrich debate. So I was just looking at some numbers:
Our offense scored 63 TDs, 23 rd ranked offense nationally. 2nd in the SEC behind Bama who scored 67 TDs.
We averaged 33ppg versus 5 top 25 defenses. Bama #1, Florida #6, Georgia #16, VT #18, Nebraska #23.
We averaged 36.4 ppg overall
According to opposing defense rankings our offense faced the 11th toughest schedule in the country.
Taking all that into consideration along with our OL being an injured mess throughout the year and with losing a player the caliber of Hurd, id say that's a pretty impressive offensive season. Should Debord lose play calling duties? if we bring in Helfrich maybe it should be as a QB coach and maybe Co-OC?
