Let's talk QBs:
Emory Jones will be in Knoxville next weekend but first he will head to Ohio State for a few days and then Clemson for a few days.
Those three are the main contenders. Jones said he will take some time after the visits and then think about making a decision. He didn't say that he would do something for sure, but just mentioned it could happen. But, he could wait as well.
I Trevor Lawrence about growing up a Tennessee fan but having to turn that into a business decision. Right now his only visit is planned to Clemson, but he said he could get up to Tennessee later this summer. There's a lot of Georgia/Florida/Clemson talk around him right now. I think Tennessee maybe isn't in this one as much as they once were.
On Michael Penix Jr., Tennessee is really his first major offer. He talked about being shocked by everything he saw on campus and really liking the staff. If Jones decides to head elsewhere, I think he could end up being their top target.
Some other notes, Alontae Taylor is going to be at Orange Carpet Day this weekend and I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled the trigger then.
Also, Jaelen Gill, a to 100 running back out of Ohio, will be in Knoxville this week. He likes Tennessee a good bit. He's from Columbus, Ohio, so the Buckeyes will be tough to beat, but he's at least legitimately interested.
Finally, caught up with instate DL Greg Emerson and he had a very interesting visit to Tennessee this week. He had an allergic reaction to peanut butter and had to go to the hospital. He is fine and will be competing today, but it was a wild story. He said the coaches made sure he was ok and he appreciated that.
I'm headed home so our analysts will have things covered from here on out, but a good weekend in Atlanta and a lot more content to come.
