The decision not to pursue charges came shortly after it was publicly reported that the rape kit results had been received. We don't know when DNA evidence was received, or if there was any, but that evidence must be sent to a lab and it takes time to get the report.

The District Attorney represents the people. She is not a shill of the UT Athletics Department. She must do the job she is sworn to do. She did not rush into charges and eventually chose not to file any at all. She has seen all of the evidence. Those calling her biased or incompetent have, to our knowledge on this board, seen none of it.

A public servant did her duty. Those whose enthusiasms produced criticism and ridicule should acknowledge that you were wrong and apologize to a public official that protects the citizens of Knox County.
