It's the same old crap year after year. Some of you do nothing but build yourselves up for disappointment and moan and groan when what is expected to happen happens. Even though it's clear as day from weeks out that Vanderbilt was the better team (more consistency with their coaching staff, s&c program, and their schemes on offense and defense) and we were coming off our worst season ever in the history of the program and picked by most to finish 7th in the SEC, you still make it a do or die game for Coach Pruitt. "By gawd, I don't curr if everything points to Vanderbilt being the better team, we don't lose this game. Fahr his ace if he loses."
The truth is as far as the new coaches go, Coach Pruitt has performed the 3rd best nationally. Mullen and Moorhead have done better, but Moorhead walked into a much better situation. Scott Frost and Chip Kelly have looked horrible. Willie Taggart, who has turned things around everywhere he's been, has been a disaster at Florida State.
Outside of Moorhead and Taggart, these coaches weren't hired because the team they inherited was great. Just like us, players across the team were poorly developed, have S&C issues, are slow in key areas, have poor technique, and simply aren't good in other areas. This isn't basketball where the new guy can land 2 or 3 studs and improve the team by 12 wins. We're talking about 7 times more players or more. You're also talking about other schools in the conference being much more stable and established in their schemes, S&C, etc.
The bottom line is it takes time. We need to give Coach Pruitt time to make changes to the staff if he sees fit, scout and sign the players who he feels fits his schemes, and let Coach Fitz put some muscle on our guys.
