In 2019, true freshman Dillon Gabriel started game 1 for Coach Heupel at UCF and went on to pass for 3,653 yards and 29 TD's. Keep in mind, he was rated a 3 star coming out of high school and was groomed by our new coaches from day 1.

In 2020, Dillon Gabriel passed for 3,570 yards and 32 TD's. Keep in mind, this was only in 10 games because of COVID. Had he played 13 games, he would have been on pace to pass for 4,641 yards and 41 TD's.

Combine these numbers and through 2 seasons Gabriel would have around 8,294 yards and 70 TD's entering his junior year. We know Gus Malzahn won't let him throw the ball the way Heupel did, and I honestly don't know why he didn't transfer to UT with Heupel, but he would have been on pace for 16,588 yards and 140 TD's for his career at UCF with Heupel's offense.

That would rank 4th on the all-time college football passing yards list behind none other than Landry Jones, who our very own Coach Heupel coached from day 1 at Oklahoma.

All time passing yards list
1. Case Keenum, Houston 19,217 yards
2. Timmy Chang, Hawaii 17,072 yards
3. Landry Jones, Oklahoma 16,646 yards
4. Dillon Gabriel, UCF 16,588 yards
5. Graham Harrell, Texas Tech 15,793 yards
6. Kellen Moore, Boise State 14,667 yards

Highlights of Dillon Gabriel at UCF. Notice how well he places the ball in tight windows...
