Tennessee coaches have once again been busy on the road from Ohio to Maryland to Florida to Louisiana and everywhere in between.
First off Tennessee offered 2016 Georgia offensive lineman Jack DeFoor today. He's a big offensive tackle out of Calhoun, Ga. He actually already has a top 3 of Clemson, Ole Miss and Georgia Tech and wasn't planning on letting anyone back in but he told me tonight that Tennessee is different and he will definitely be visiting this summer and will give the Vols a long look.
The Vols also offered a coupe of 2017 offensive linemen today as Blake Vinson from Ocala, Fla., and Jordan McNair out of Maryland both were offered.
Vinson is pretty familiar with Tennessee as he visited earlier this spring, but more than that his mother is from Chattanooga and he visits family in Nashville and Chattanooga quite frequently. Also, he and his family are good friends with Daniel Lincoln so he came to several games when he was younger. His first college football game was actually an Alabama-Tennessee game several years ago.
Staying with the 2017 guys, Tennessee offered tight end Colby Parkinson out of California today. He's going to make some rounds on the East Coast and in the South this summer and Tennessee will get a visit.
More 2017 offers went out earlier this week as Jaylen Harris (Who visited Tennessee for the O&W and is massive), Tyler Johnson (big WR/TE from Arizona) and Robert Beal (DE/OLB from Georgia).
On the 2018 front, Tennessee is the third offer for PJ Mustipher, younger brother of Notre Dame offensive lineman Sam Mustipher. He's also from Maryland.
Finally, look for a Tennessee coach out at CAK likely tomorrow to check out Austin Pope who picked up an offer from Nebraska last night and added Memphis today. Tennessee already has Devnate Brooks as its tight end for the class and it's John Jancek's area now, so I believe Jancek will be the coach in to see him tomorrow.
I think he would have to camp on the defensive side of the ball for an offer since numbers will be so tight this year, but I personally like Pope's upside and wouldn't be surprised if he pulled in more offers over the next few months and as he hits camps this summer.
