Something interesting re: Memphis basketball that was mentioned to me tonight by someone around the Tennessee program after this weekend's cancellation.

The Tigers played in the NIT Tip-off in Brooklyn last month and obviously NYC has a policy in place that applies to all athletic teams, college and pro, that unvaccinated players can't participate, Kyrie Irving of the Nets being the most famous example.

Did Memphis lie and play unvaccinated players against Virginia Tech and Iowa State in an event held in the Barclay's Center? If so will there be any fallout?

Seems they likely did play some unvaccinated guys given Penny's admission that he perhaps 'misspoke' about his team's vaccination status earlier this season. Although that involves some speculation on my part, doesn't seem far fetched.

Will be interesting to see if there is any follow up or ramifications.
