  • Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer filed suit in a California district court against the San Diego woman who accused him of sexual assault last year. In the suit, Bauer's attorneys said the woman, who alleged the MLB player choked her unconscious on multiple occasions during consensual sex, "fabricated allegations of sexual assault," and are now claiming defamation and tortious interference and seeking unspecified monetary and punitive damages.   • Attorneys general in Virginia and Washington, D.C., announced probes into multiple allegations against the Washington Commanders and owner Daniel Snyder, including sexual harassment, workplace misconduct and financial improprieties, which the NFL franchise has denied committing. D.C. Attorney General Carl A. Racine, who said his investigation started in the fall, and Virginia Attorney General Jason S. Miyares, were two of the three attorneys general, along with Brian E. Frosh of Maryland, to be copied on an April 12 letter by House Oversight Committee Chair Carolyn B. Maloney that said Snyder and the franchise "may have engaged in a troubling, long-running, and potentially unlawful pattern of financial conduct." (The Washington Post)
