  • Two MLB teams have reportedly all but completed deals to sell advertising patches on their uniforms beginning with the 2023 season, even as the league office maintains that its jersey advertising program stemming from the new collective bargaining agreement is still incomplete and unfinished. Many teams are reportedly asking more for a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch sleeve patch than they received for stadium naming rights, with sources saying that some big-market teams are seeking more than $20 million a year.   • Former Dallas Mavericks general manager Donnie Nelson filed a lawsuit against the team alleging that owner Mark Cuban fired him last summer as retaliation for reporting that Cuban's chief of staff, Jason Lutin, sexually harassed and assaulted his nephew during a job interview in 2020; Cuban and Lutin both denied the allegations. The lawsuit also claims that Cuban offered Nelson $52 million to withdraw a wrongful termination claim and sign a confidentiality agreement regarding Lutin's alleged abuse of his nephew. (ESPN)
  • The NHL is reportedly working to broker a meeting between the two major women's hockey organizations in North America - the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association and the Premier Hockey Federation - in an attempt to forge an agreement that would bring the two groups together. PWHPA members, who have balked at joining the PHF, were informed over the weekend of a multimillion-dollar funding deal that would allow them to launch a competing league. (Sportsnet)
