- Peter Moore, a famous sneaker designer of the Air Jordan 1 shoes and the Jordan brand's Jumpman logo, died Friday. Moore served as a key figure in the creation of the Jordan retail line and worked as Nike Inc.'s first global creative director; he also launched what would become Adidas America in the 1990s before retiring in 1998. - Two-time Olympic gold medalist Hope Solo announced on social media that she is entering an in-patient alcohol treatment program, as she faces charges of misdemeanor child abuse and driving while impaired after police said they found her in March passed out behind the wheel of a car with her twin toddlers inside. Solo, who served as the netminder on the U.S. Women's National Team from 2000-16, asked the National Soccer Hall of Fame to postpone her induction ceremony to 2023, saying that "my energies and focus are totally directed to my health, healing and taking care of my family." In an interview, President Peter Feigin referred to the new sponsorship opportunity, which is suggested to be a 10-year minimum deal, as obtaining keys to "a city that we've created within the state of Wisconsin."
